Admissions Policy

Admission to Jesse Remington High School (JRHS) is for students from spiritually and academically like-minded families who are supportive of our philosophy, objectives, and standards of education whose children meet our enrollment standards. Our purpose is to serve families who desire a distinctively Christian education and welcome an education in an intentionally Christian perspective and direction.

The JRHS foundational statements are to be reviewed and agreed upon before a family makes an application to JRHS.  Part of the application process is a signed agreement to all parts of the following guiding statements of Jesse Remington High School, which is a ministry of the Candia Congregational Church:

JRHS stands firmly upon the historic truth claims and moral foundations of Christianity. This includes but is not limited to the biblical definition of marriage, the attendant boundaries of sexuality and moral conduct, and the clear biblical teaching that gender is both sacred and established by God’s design. Parents or legal guardians who choose to enroll their children at JRHS, are agreeing to support these and other basic biblical values derived from historical Christianity.

Enrollment and Re-Enrollment at JRHS is contingent upon this same understanding and agreement by both parent and student.

JRHS, a religious institution, is a ministry of the Candia Congregational Church, provides an education in a distinct Christian environment, and believes its biblical role is to work in conjunction with the home to mold students be Christ like. On occasions in which the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home or the activities of the student are counter to the biblical lifestyle the school teaches, the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant or discontinue enrollment of a current student.

The following standards are utilized for evaluating prospective students:

Spiritual Considerations:

  • Personal Christian commitment of parents and student
  • Willingness of parents and student to be supportive of the school’s Christian philosophy of education, objectives, goals and programs

Behavioral Considerations:

  • History of an acceptable citizenship in previous school experiences
  • Agreement of parents and students to abide by the behavior standards of the school

Academic Standards

  • Documented record of acceptable grades
  • Acceptable scores on achievement tests

Personal Considerations

  • Student’s special interests, talents, skills and abilities
  • School makes no distinction in its admissions policy on the basis of race, color or national and ethnic origin
Jesse Remington High School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
